A Short Note From Matthew

First things first, I want to thank you for stopping by my website. That fact that you’re here means you likely read something I wrote and, at the very least, kind of enjoyed it. Maybe you loved it! Wouldn’t that be awesome? If you’ve read more than one of my books, you already know that my books don’t fall into one genre (I let the story dictate the genre). Of course, that doesn’t mean they don’t share a lot of common themes. I’m big on empathy, empowerment, and human connection. With everything I write, my goal is to make you laugh, make you think, and to help make you feel better about yourself and the world. That’s enough for here, time to get back to writing books. I look forward to sharing more stories with you.

Love,
Matthew

THE ORPHANS

“Readers of any age will find strength through the Orphans’ strides. Along with our heroes, they will get swept up into a landscape littered with unimaginable challenges–and learn that they have far more agency than they ever realized.”
Lauren Leibowitz, Editor, New York Magazine

“This fast-moving story is a refreshing, modern portrayal of the struggle of good versus evil and the power of mindfulness and self-reflection. Young readers will see a lot of themselves in Charlie, the protagonist, and his path to overcoming his limitations will inspire many to consider a new approach to finding strength and happiness.”

STEALING CHRISTMAS

“A charming and hilarious Christmas story that took me right back to my youth. This is the kind of story that I grew up on and is sadly in short supply these days. Thankfully, Sullivan has tapped into his memories of friendship, the holiday spirit, and obsessing over the latest video game console (all things that I can deeply identify with!) to create a story that feels authentic and takes us back to a time when books and movies like this helped shape many of our childhoods.” — John Whittington,  Writer, The LEGO Batman Movie & The LEGO Ninjago Movie

“What can I say? I didn’t intend on reading this book – I purchased it to give to one of my grandchildren to read. I thought I’d just take a peek. I began reading yesterday afternoon, and some last night. I got up early this morning and finished it! WONDERFUL BOOK!!!”
